Company History

Founded by Thomas C. Dante in 1960, Dante Valve Company has grown to become the leading independent master distributor for all makes and types of safety, relief, and safety relief valves. From the company’s inception, the Dante name has been synonymous with outstanding customer service and premium product offerings. Today, this dedication to excellence continues as Tom's children, Chuck and Mike, and grandchildren, Lisa, Matt, and Tom, oversee operations.

Some highlights of Dante Valve’s history:

• 2011: Dante Valve merges with sister company Danco Valve, which makes Dante a manufacturer, as well as a distributor, of valves and related products. Dante is now the premier manufacturer of mil-spec pressure relief valves, which continue to be sold under the Danco name.

• 2010: Dante Valve celebrates its 50th anniversary.

• 2009: Dante Valve’s activist efforts on behalf of United States aircraft carriers become the subject of a feature article in the Long Beach Press Telegram.

• 2007: Dante Valve opens an east coast manufacturing and distribution location in a facility with over 50,000 square feet of office and warehousing space on over three acres of land. The new facility features valve service and repair and a technical writing department. This location allows Dante Valve to provide unmatched service to customers in the eastern United States, including those at the world’s largest naval base in Norfolk, Virginia.

• 2007: Lisa Dante Papini is named Western Regional Board Member of the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition.

• 2005: The "Above the Shop Floor" Lean Manufacturing transformation begins. It includes a complete office space remodel, as well as new software implementation for improved work flow of office and "Above the Shop Floor" functions.

• 2004: Dante Valve proudly partners with Northrop Grumman Newport News to implement Lean Manufacturing. As a result, a Dante Valve representative is invited to speak at a supplier conference and share the company’s success story. A Dante Valve executive is also a featured speaker at the 20th Annual Conference for The Association of Manufacturing Excellence.

• 2004: TRAC Regulator chooses Dante Valve as its master distributor.

• 2000: Dante Valve celebrates its 40th anniversary by becoming ASME and National Board certified to apply the {V} and {UV} code stamps.

• 1999: Dante Valve is certified by the National Board of Pressure and Vessel Inspectors as an authorized valve repair facility under the {VR} code stamp program.

• 1983: The Dante family founds Danco Valve Company, a service-oriented, naval mil-spec relief valve manufacturer with a large inventory of available stock. Danco Valve's inventory policy transforms the industry, delivering mil-spec valves within 24 hours. Prior to Danco Valve's inception, competitive manufacturers took more than 30 days to quote standard inquiries and as long as one year to deliver product.

• 1975: Dante Valve moves to its current location in Bellflower, California, with more than 30,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space on over one acre of land.

• 1965: Dante Valve is the first to offer a two-year warranty on both new and reconditioned valves – an offering that has since become the industry standard.
